If you love to read and work with words, then this could be a great option for you, especially if you find yourself often finding spelling or grammar errors in what you read. You can make a part-time or even full-time income working as a proofreader from home.

Becoming a transcriptionist has been a popular career choice and it can be done by housewives from the comfort of home. Transcription entails listening to audio clips previously recorded and type the words you hear into a document (preferably Microsoft or Google docs).

This is one of my favorite options if I had to choose another work from home option (besides blogging and proofreading). More and more companies are looking for english native speakers to teach English online to Chinese kids in China.

You usually need a degree to apply and certification to teach english as a second language (TESL) which is easily attainable. This is a fun job that pays well if you have the requirements for it. You can read more about it in my work from home teaching jobs article.

Tutor Students Online

Similarly to teaching english online as a second language, you also need some form of degree and also teaching experience to tutor students online. You can teach them on any subject that you want to offer.

Each company has their own specific requirements but you can check their websites for details. A few to check out include tutor.com, K12, and Chegg Tutors.

Join High Paying Research Studies

You’ve probably heard that you could make money filling out surveys while watching television and it is true. However, not all survey sites are created equal. You have to know the right ones to join that will be worth your time and will give you more money and more opportunities to do them.

Some of the better paying survey sites include: Survey Junkie, Inbox Dollars, Vindale Research and Pinecone Research.

Another neat way to make money from home is to buy thrift store items and resell them for profit.

You could work as a website tester for business owners that have websites or apps and want to make sure everything is running well. You don’t have to have any special skills. You need to have a computer and a wifi connection and browse as a regular user.

Usertesting.com is one of these testing websites that will pay you $10 through PayPal for every 20-minute video you complete reporting on the tasks at hand.

You may be asked to report on if there are any broken links on the website, how easy or difficult the site is to navigate and if there are any errors you came across while browsing.

There are many housewives sitting at home loving the idea of creating a youtube channel and doing it! Have you watched ultimate cleaning and organizing videos on youtube before? They are quite popular and many women have their own youtube channel helping others be better homemakers.

I’ve listed a few offline jobs for housewives from home too because some women may prefer that option. The first on the list is the only offline job requiring an education. The other three are ideal jobs for uneducated housewives sitting at home or those with limited education.

This is something I used to be part-time after a full day of teaching. You don’t actually need to be a teacher to tutor kids at home. You just need to be knowledgable in a particular subject. You could tutor elementary school kids in simple math or help them with reading.

This is what I did and could charge an hourly rate of $25/hr minimum even if you are not a certified teacher (I charged $35-40/hr when I was tutoring because I’m a certified teacher). Keep in mind, the rate will vary according to where you live.

Pet Sitter Jobs

If you love dogs, consider a job as a dog walker and sitter! You’d be surprised how many people are looking for this service for their pets and there’s a website called Rover that connects people willing to pet sit with dog owners. You don’t need any special skills; you just need to love dogs!
