How To Organize a Small Kitchen Without a Pantry
You have a small kitchen with very little cabinet space and no pantry. You can still find ways on how to organize a small kitchen without a pantry.
I’ve listed a few no pantry solutions along with some other small kitchen organization hacks. Decide what you like best and what would suit your kitchen needs.
1. Use a Pegboard
You could easily setup a pegboard to create more storage space for food items. Just make sure you measure the space on the wall where it will go so you know what size pegboard to buy.
You can even use a pegboard to store your kitchen items if you need to find a way on how to organize your kitchen without cabinets or you are just limited on cabinet storage. Take a look at all the colorful pegboards here.
2. Use a slide-out shelf
A great way to use up dead space in a kitchen next to your refrigerator, is to use a slide-out shelf. This is a genius storage hack for a kitchen with no pantry. Check out this slide out pantry.
3. Make use of storage space you have
You might not have a lot of extra space in your kitchen along with no pantry in the kitchen. In this case the best thing you can do is make good use of the cabinet space you do have by using it efficiently and having it well organized inside your cabinets. You can maximize the space you have using the right items.

4. Use a bookshelf
I actually used this idea some time ago myself and created a pantry using a bookshelf. Even if you can’t fit it in your kitchen – that’s okay. I used mine between the entryway and the kitchen. I used storage bins to hold my pantry items and it worked great.
You can use a bookshelf to store your pantry items however you want. Hide your pantry items or make it look pretty with displaying your items and using this decorative contact paper on the inside of your shelves. You decide! 5. Hang shelves
Another option on how to organize a small kitchen without a pantry is to use shelves. You can place them on the kitchen wall. I like this shelf because there is a bar underneath that can be used to either hold a paper towel roll or hang other items with hooks.
If you have empty space on the side of your refrigerator, this shelving unit is a brilliant idea to use up the space effectively.

6. Use a free-standing cabinet
If you really don’t have a lot of room in your kitchen, and you’ve maximized all your kitchen space like I mentioned, you could create your own pantry space in another room. You could easily add a free-standing cabinet like this one to your space and nobody needs to know it’s your pantry besides you and whomever cooks in your household.
Instead of using a bookcase as a pantry like I used to do, I now use a white free-standing cabinet (similar to this one) between the entryway and the kitchen. It works great and my food items are out of sight!
7. Transform a coat closet into a pantry
You can create a small pantry closet out of your coat closet if you really find you don’t have another way to increase your pantry space after using the ideas above. It’s been done many times before. Diane from the InMyOwnStyle blog, created a small pantry closet. Here’s what it looks like:
8. Declutter your pantry items
This one might seem obvious but it’s often forgotten. How many times have you been at the grocery store, saw something on sale and bought five items of it just because of the sale – without a thought about your small pantry. Go through your pantry items and get rid of anything past the expiry date at the very least.
