This is a great and health conscious way to get your bed sheets white like they were when you first bought them. No need to buy expensive or toxic materials to get your sheets white. This method demonstrated by Do It On a Dime Life may also work well with clothes made with cotton.
And while we’re on the topic of cleaning, if you want to clean your bathroom without breaking your back (like I used to before!), then check out my best bathtub scrubber article here.
Enjoy the video:)
If you prefer to read the text version, here’s how to do it:
Toss 1/4 cup of baking soda into the washing machine with the bed sheets and wash as normal.
If you have a high efficiency machine, use 1/2 cup of vinegar in the fabric softener well and pour your detergent as usual (use the warm cycle).
If you are not using a high efficiency machine, pour 1/2 cup of vinegar during the rinse cycle.
Dry your sheets as usual but preferably on low heat/permanent press to keep your sheets softer for longer.
The end result are bright white sheets, but repeat steps if necessary.
So simple with simple, non-toxic ingredients!
