Having your own homemade baking mix recipe is better than having using a store-bought version and you can make one that is versatile enough to use in various recipes such as pancakes, waffles, biscuits, and more.

If you are going to add the butter to the mix, be sure to store in an air tight container in the fridge. This recipe can last up to six weeks!

It’s cheaper to make and have  this on hand as opposed to using the store-bought bisquick mix…not to mention, healthier for you!

Cake mixes are easy to find in the grocery. There’s nothing simpler than just buying one and then making your family’s favorite chocolate cake, brownies, or chocolate chip cookies. If you’re a discerning mom, however, you may not like using a mix with all the preservatives in it. One solution is to make the baking mixes yourself.

The Taste of Home blog has shared a baking mix recipe for brownies, biscuits, muffins and more. You can place all the mix in a clear bag and label them; i.e., what’s inside, what it’s for, and the date it was mixed.

Afterwards it will be so easy to use them since they’re well labeled already. To make your own baking mixes, check out the recipes at the link here: Homemade Baking Mix Recipes.

I’ve done this a few times and it’s really easy and quick to put together these mixes. This will save you time in the long run.

All you have to do when you’re ready to bake, is grab a mix you’ve already put together ahead of time and add the wet ingredients. You could even add the list of wet ingredients with a permanent marker on the ziplock bags with baking temperature and time.

Homemade Cookie Mixes Like Betty Crocker

Betty Crocker Cookie Mixes are a popular favorite because of the convenience of making cookies by just adding a few more ingredients to the already pre-made mixes. Unfortunately, those artificial ingredients in them with names you can’t even pronounce makes these mixes less appealing.

The good news is that you can make similar cookie mixes with all homemade ingredients. This makes it so much easier to make. You just have to add a few more ingredients, pop the mixture in the oven, and you got homemade cookies in no time with very little clean up:)
